York Men’s Soccer Makes it Four Straight With Dominant, 6-1, Win over Sarah Lawrence

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team picked up its fourth straight win, dominating Sarah Lawrence College en route to a 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Aviator Field.
York was led by
Andre Adelson, who netted two goals and
Jordan Chin, who scored in his third straight contest, while also adding an assist.
The Cardinals managed just one goal in the first half, despite a plethora of scoring opportunities. That one goal came off the foot of
Michael Delgado in the 13
th minute. A couple of pretty passes by
Brandon Yotagri and
Ramy Mohamed helped set up the goal.
In the second half, the Cardinals were much more successful in capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Chin scored his goal in the 49
th minute and Adelson netted his first goal in the 59
th minute to give York a comfortable 3-1 lead. Another goal by Adelson just a couple minutes later would make it 4-1.
York would add two more goals. The fifth goal of the contest came from
Frank Rodriguez—his first of the year— and was assisted by
Javed Khan and the last goal was scored by
Sonam Sherpa and assisted by Delgado.
Sarah Lawrence's Ishaan Pujari scored a goal with just 16 seconds remaining to spoil the shutout for York keeper
Qudus Kassim, who had five saves in the contest.
With the win, York improves to 4-10-1. Sarah Lawrence drops to 2-9. The Cardinals have now wrapped up the regular season and will be idle until October 24 for the CUNYAC Quarterfinals. The time of that match and their opponent has yet to be determined.
