1-2 Punch of Sherpa, Chin Help Men’s Soccer Top Hunter

Jordan Chin and
Sonam Sherpa each tallied a goal and an assist to lead the York College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over conference-foe Hunter College at Randall's Island on Wednesday evening.
After a scoreless first half, Chin broke through after Sherpa set him up for the goal in the 51
st minute. Then in the 61
st minute, the two traded places, with Chin setting up Sherpa to give York some breathing room.
York took 20 shots on the evening but had just six shots on goal, while Hunter had five of its six shots go on net. Cardinals' keeper
Leszek Stankiewicz turned away all five shots to earn the shutout.
After starting out the season losing 10 of its first 11 matches, the Cardinals have now picked up wins in two straight contests and improve to 2-10-1, 1-5-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. Hunter drops to 2-10-2, 2-3-2 in the CUNYAC. York will hope to keep the momentum going on Saturday when they host Medgar Evers College on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Aviator Field.
