St. Joseph’s Tops Women’s Volleyball in Straight Sets

BROOKLYN, NY— The York College women's volleyball team fell to St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) on Monday evening by a score of 3-0 ( 25-13, 25-23, 25-19).
York struggled with its hitting percentage throughout the night and that proved to be its downfall. Meanwhile, St. Joseph's was much more efficient, particularly in the first set, where they hit at a .476 clip.
St. Joe's, Kim Matthews had a big night, recording 16 kills (.367), while teammate Kathy McCarthy also played exceptionally well, registering 11 kills and a .667 hitting percentage.
York received a team-high six kills apiece from
Yasheka Lewis and
Pamela Yap. Lewis also added a team-best nine digs in the loss.
