JAMAICA, NY— The College of Staten Island Dolphins won a tightly-contested match against the York College men's soccer team, 1-0, in a CUNY Athletic Conference contest Wednesday afternoon.
The game's only goal came in the 68

York's best chance to get the equalizer came in the 83
rd minute when
Wilkerson C. Jean Jacques found himself all alone in front of the net with a clear shot at a goal. However, Dolphins keeper Ahmed El-Ghareib came up and made a game-saving kick save to preserve the lead.
Despite the loss, Kassim played well in net, stopping eight shots on the day. El-Gareib turned away five York shots.
With the win, CSI improves to 2-3-1, 2-0 in the CUNYAC, while York drops to 0-9, 0-2 in the CUNYAC. The Cardinals will host Brooklyn College on Saturday at noon.
