Women’s Volleyball Splits Multi-Match

Cardinals defeat Medgar Evers, lose to Baruch

NEW YORK, NY— The York College women's volleyball team earned a split of two matches at the CUNY Athletic Conference multi-match held at Baruch College Saturday morning.  The Cardinals defeated Medgar Evers College 3-0 ( 25-17, 25-13, 25-21) and fell to host Baruch College 3-0 (25-7, 25-18, 25-5).
 
Stayce Kay Muirhead led all players in the match against Medgar Evers with six kills, while hitting at a .400 percentage.  Pamela Yap picked up four service aces and 16 assists, while Sharon Fordyce registered five kills.  Laureen Cay Oliver picked up a team-high four digs. 
 
The Bearcats won easily in their match against York, however Muirhead once again performed well, picking up four kills in just six attempts.  Muirhead, along with Yasheka Lewis also added two blocks apiece.
 
York (1-5) will host Mount Saint Vincent and Cooper Union on Tuesday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 6:00 p.m.
