NEW HAVEN, C.T.— Albertus Magnus College jumped out to an early lead against the York College men's basketball team and never looked back, as they cruised to an 82-50 win over the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.
 
After York scored the opening basket of the game, Albertus Magnus scored 12 unanswered points and were never threatened for the entire contest.  York was never within single digits after the opening minutes of the game.   
 
The Falcons got a big game from Arshad Jackson, who netted a game-high 23 points, while handing out six assists.  Jackson scored 12 of his points from long-range, shooting 4-8 from three-point range.  Darius Watson added 12 points, while Ray Askew finished with nine points and eight boards. 
 
Despite the loss, York had a nice game from Omari Phipps, who finished with 19 points and five rebounds, on 6-10 shooting.  Tony Vails added 11 points.
 
The loss drops York's record to 0-4, while Albertus Magnus improves to 3-0.  The Cardinals will look to get on track on Tuesday, when they host St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at 8:00 p.m.
