York Cruises to 3-0 Win over Baruch

JAMAICA, NY— The York College men's soccer team won by its largest margin of the season, defeating Baruch College by a score of 3-0 in a CUNY Athletic Conference contest Saturday afternoon.
The win could help assure the Cardinals host a first-round game in the upcoming CUNYAC championships, as the victory improved their record to 4-11 and 4-3 in the CUNYAC, putting them in second place in the conference standings.
York's first goal came 25 minutes in after
Peterson Jean dished a pass to the reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week,
Andre Adelson, who rifled a low shot pass the goalie's left side and into the net. The score would remain 1-0 into halftime.
In the second half, Baruch (5-6-1, 3-2-1 CUNYAC) applied lots of pressure and a had a handful of good scoring opportunities, but York keeper Pierrson Pierre-Louis made a number of big stops to preserve the lead.
York was then able to add an insurance goal, when
Wilkerson C. Jean Jacques scored an impressive goal, kicking the ball from about 25 yards out in the top-right corner of the net to put York up 2-0. Later, York sealed the victory in the 82
nd minute, when
Menard Millus picked up an unassisted to goal to make the score 3-0.
York, winners of three of its last four contests, will visit Medgar Evers at Aviator Field in Brooklyn, on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
