Women’s Tennis Earns #3 Seed in CUNYAC Championships; Will host Baruch on Wednesday
JAMAICA, NY— The seeding for the upcoming CUNY Athletic Conference/ Hospital for Special Surgery Women's Tennis Championships have been announced and York College has earned the #3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Baruch College in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, October 19 at 3:30 p.m. on the York College tennis courts.
The other quarterfinal matchups have top-seeded Brooklyn College hosting eighth-seeded Lehman, #2 Hunter battling #7 John Jay and #4 Staten Island entertaining #5 CCNY.
York, who defeated Baruch 7-2 on October 7, will be facing the Bearcats in the playoffs for the second straight year and will be seeking some vengeance. Baruch eliminated York in last year's semifinals.
Should York win, they would have the opportunity to play at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY for the semifinals, which will take place on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
