Women’s Tennis Downs Lehman College, 6-3

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis team evened up its conference record Saturday afternoon, defeating Lehman College by a score of 6-3. With the win, York improves to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
The Lady Cardinals clinched the match early, winning all three doubles matches and then taking the first two singles contests. Lehman would take three of the final four singles matches to close the gap in the score.
York was led by Nicole Jones who earned a 6-2, 6-1 triumph in second singles, while also winning 8-6 at first doubles with teammate Amba Chanoine. Chanoine was also victorious in singles play, winning 4-6, 6-4,10-5 at third singles. Anna Ko was York's other singles winner, earning a 6-3, 6-1 victory at fifth singles. Ko and teammate Tenzin Kunchok also won at third doubles by a score of 8-4.
York will look to continue its winning ways on Tuesday when they take on City Tech at 3:30 p.m on the York College Tennis Courts.
