JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis team was shutout, 9-0, by St. Joseph's (LI) College in the Lady Cardinals first match of the 2010 season on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Cardinals could not muster much of a threat against the Golden Eagles.  Leading the way for St. Joseph's was Terrie Leonard, who earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over York's Nicole Jones at first singles.  Leonard also earned an 8-4 victory in doubles play with teammate Katie Soeder over Jones and Allana Wilson. 

York, 0-1, will take on Hunter College on Wednesday, September 8 at home.
