Women’s Tennis Blanks Medgar Evers 9-0

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis team cruised to an easy victory Wednesday afternoon, defeating conference-foe Medgar Evers College, 9-0. With the win the Lady Cardinals even up their conference record at 2-2 and improve their overall record to 2-3.
The Lady Cardinals dominated the match, only dropping a combined ten games in the six singles and three doubles matches played. The tightest match of the day, came at first singles where Nicole Jones earned a hard-fought 6-4, 6-3 win over the Cougars Roneke Browne.
It was total domination from third singles through sixth singles, where Amba Chanoine, Nina Olladinkankwu, Ana Ko and Irma Ruilova each won their matches 6-0, 6-0. Allana Wilson also picked up a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at second singles.
York will have a quick turnaround as they face Kean University on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
