York Falls to Centenary and William Paterson at Tri-Match

WAYNE, NJ— The York College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the William Paterson tri-match Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Cardinals lost 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-20) to William Paterson in the opening match and then lost 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-7) to Centenary in their second contest.

 

Despite the losses, York freshman Mi-Asia King had a solid afternoon, recording eight kills in the match against William Paterson and two kills and two blocks against Centenary.  Maria Suero-Santos had five kills in the opening match and four against Centenary and Pamela Yap picked up a match-high 14 digs against William Paterson.

 

The Lady Cardinals will return to action on Tuesday evening when they host the College of Staten Island at 7:00 p.m. It will be Pink Day at York College and the Lady Cardinals squad will wear pink uniforms to help raise breast cancer awareness.  The team is also asking fans to make pledges to the American Cancer Society based on the number of attacks and digs in the match.
