Box Score

JAMAICA
, NY— The York College men's soccer team earned a hard-fought, 2-1, victory over rival Medgar Evers College in a key CUNY Athletic Conference contest on the York College campus Wednesday afternoon.

All the action came in the first half of play, starting with freshman Menard Millus who scored off his own rebound in the 15th minute of play.  The lead would be short-lived, however, as the Cougars struck back to even the score when Sharard Sullivan rifled a shot in the top-left corner of the goal in the 18th minute.

York would get the eventual game-winner about ten minutes later, when freshman Rachidi Amadou lofted a shot out of the goalies reach and into the net to make the score 2-1.

The Cougars could not get the equalizer in the second half, despite holding a 7-2 shot advantage in the final 45 minutes.  York keeper Pierreson Pierre-Louis made three shots in goal to earn the win.

With the victory, York improves to 4-7-2, 3-3-2 in the CUNYAC, while Medgar Evers drops to 6-7-2, 2-4-2 in CUNYAC play.

York will return to action on Saturday when they host City tech at noon.
