York Falls to Hunter College
NEW YORK, NY— The defending CUNYAC champion Hunter College Hawks proved to be to much for the York College women's volleyball team Tuesday evening. The Lady Cardinals fell by a score of 3-0 (25-3, 25-11, 25-9).
The Hawks (11-6, 5-0 CUNYAC) came into the game with perfect record in CUNYAC play and they showed why, jumping out to a fast start and never looking back. Karolina Koguc and Jenna Pape each had ten kills apiece to lead Hunter. Rodesha Donaldson also served up eight of the teams 19 aces in the match.
Despite the loss, Shanine Bogan finished the match with four kills and two blocks to lead the Lady Cardinals. Irma Ruilova also added three kills and six digs.
York, 4-11, 2-3 in the CUNYAC, will visit St. Joseph's (BK) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
