JAMAICA, NY— Shanine Bogan recorded a match-high five kills and Rhevany Knowles finished with a team-high eight digs but it would not be enough as the York College women's volleyball team fell to St. Joseph's College (LI) 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-11) in a non-conference tilt Thursday evening.
The Cardinals were done in by a poor hitting percentage, hitting -.059 for the game. The Golden Eagles also turned in a strong serving effort recording 21 aces in the contest. Ashley Larrea led St. Joseph's with seven aces.
With the loss, York falls to 4-8 on the season, while St. Joseph's improves to 7-6. York will not have to wait long to bounce back as they host SUNYIT at 4:30 and Pratt Institute at 8:30 in a tri-match held at York College.
