Vilsaint Leads York in Rout of Brooklyn

JAMAICA, NY – Junior forward Elysee Vilsaint scored two goals to lead the York College men's soccer team to a 4-0 rout of rival Brooklyn College Wednesday afternoon. With the win, York improves to 2-5 overall and 2-0 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. 

 

Vilsaint opened the scoring in the 37th minute when he scored off a pass from freshman Fernando Rueda and later added an unassisted goal in the 76th minute, which made the score 3-0.  Vilsaint leads the team with three goals and eight points on the year.

 

Sophomore Francisco Florez picked up the second goal of the game off of an assist from sophomore Sergio Restrepo and Ousmane Toure made it 4-0 in the 85th minute of the game. 

 

York goalie Samer Abdel-Fattah made three saves in net, two of which were diving saves.  The Cardinals out shot Brooklyn (2-5, 0-2 CUNYAC) by an 18-5 margin. 

 

York will look to continue its winning ways when they host Hunter College on Saturday at noon in a rematch of last year's conference championship game.
