JAMAICA
, NY – The York College men's soccer team fell to St. Josephs College (LI), Monday, losing 3-2.   The Cardinals nearly erased a two-goal, second half deficit but could not convert several scoring opportunities down the stretch to tie the game.

St. Joseph's opened the scoring in the 26th minute when the Eagles Adam Rogers scored off a rebound to make it 1-0.  York would even the score just before halftime, when an Elysee Vilsaint found Leslie Ennever in front of the net.  Ennever beat St. Joseph's goalie Michale Dougherty to tie the game at 1-1.

In the second half, a ten-minute span saw three goals scored.  Stephan Zaech scored off a cross from Craig Ceruti to give the Eagles a 2-1 advantage.  Just five minutes later Dylan Evans beat York goalie Brian Broadbelt to make it 3-1.

Less than two minutes later, Vilsaint set up Jaime Hay who found the back of the net to cut the lead to 3-2.  York could not get the equalizer in the final 25 minutes, however, and the Eagles held on to win the game.

With the loss York falls to 1-5, while St. Joseph's improves to 2-6.  York will return to action Wednesday when they host Brooklyn College at 4:00 p.m.
