York Falls to Old Westbury in Season Opener

JAMAICA, NY – The York College men's soccer team dropped a tough match in its season opener Wednesday, falling to SUNY Old Westbury 2-0.
Old Westbury's Scott Madocks beat York goalie Samer Abdel-Fattah in 73rd minute to break a scoreless tie. Later in the 87th minute the Panthers added an insurance goal when Mathais Coni set up Donny Alerti, who headed the ball in off a corner kick.
Despite outshooting Old Westbury 15-14, the Cardinals were unable to find the back of the net.
York 0-1, will travel to New Jersey City University on next Thursday, September 10 at 4:00 p.m.
