Broadbelt Makes 20 Saves but York Falls to Drew

, NJ York College men's soccer goalie Brian Broadbelt made 20 saves but it would not be enough as Drew University unleashed a flurry of shots all match long and went on to defeat the Cardinals by a score of 6-0, Tuesday evening. 

 

The Rangers had a remarkable 46 shots and 26 shots on goal, compared to just five shots and two shots on goal for York.   Drew also held a 19-0 advantage on corner kicks. 

 

Drew took the advantage early and never looked back.  Marc Chiarello opened the scoring in the fourth minute of play off an assist from Anthony Pisani.  Five minutes later, the Rangers made it 2-0 on a goal from Sam Nepveux. The Rangers would add four more goals in the second half to put the game out of reach. 

 

York, 0-4, will look to get on track Thursday when they open their conference schedule on the road against Medgar Evers at 7:00 p.m.  The game will be held at Aviator Field in Brooklyn.
