Women’s Volleyball Splits a Pair of Contests at CUNYAC Multi-Match

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's volleyball team split a pair of contests at the CUNY Athletic Conference multi-match hosted by York on Saturday.  In their opening match, York fell to Baruch College 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-16) but recovered to defeat Medgar Evers 3-1 (19-15, 25-21, 33-31, 25-21) later in the day.

 

With the split, York's record now stands at 3-4 on the season, while Medgar Evers falls to 1-2 on the season.  The Cougars also fell to CCNY earlier in the day.

 

York senior, Irma Ruilova turned in a big game against the Cougars, recording ten kills, six digs and four aces to lead the Lady Cardinals.  Shanine Bogan also picked up eight kills and three blocks, while Emely Vasquez recorded a match-high ten digs.   

 

York will return to action on Tuesday when they host City Tech at 7:00 p.m.
