Amponsah Leads York to 3-0 Win over CCNY

JAMAICA, NY – Richard Amponsah scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the York College men's' soccer team to a 3-0 win over the City College of New York Saturday afternoon. With the win, York improves to 4-6 and 4-1 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
York's first goal came in the 19th minute when Leslie Ennever beat CCNY (1-9-1, 1-3-1) goalie Tayfun Kucuk with a hard shot in the left side of the net. Sergio Restrepo set up Ennever on the play. Later in the first half, Amponsah found Francisco Florez for the second goal of the game. In 88th minute, with the game in hand, Amponsah added a goal of his own to make the final score 3-0.
Keeper Samer Abdel-Fattah stopped three shots to earn his third shutout of the season.
York will host Baruch in a key conference match that could decided first place in the conference on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
