Hunter Downs York in Women’s Volleyball

JAMAICA, NY— Hunter College, the first-place team in the CUNYAC, proved to be to much for the York College women’s volleyball team as the Lady Cardinals fell 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-10) on Tuesday evening.
Hunter (10-1, 5-0 CUNYAC) led in each set and was never threatened by York. The Hawks Tracey Igwe recorded six kills and a match-high .857 hitting percentage, while Amanda Kamm registered a match-high nine kills and hit .643 for the match.
For York, Irma Ruoliva (Cuenca, Ecuador/ Newcomer) digged a match-high seven balls and Rochelle Bourne (Christ Church, Barbados/ Lester Vaughn) had three kills.
York (3-11, 2-3 CUNYAC) will look to rebound on October 6, when they visit St. Joseph’s (LI) at 7:00 p.m.
