Soccer Falls to Purchase; Winning Streak Snapped at Three

Brown Scores First Collegiate Goal for the Cardinals

PURCHASE, NY— The York College soccer team saw their three match winning streak come to an end Thursday night as they fell to Purchase College 4-1. 

 

Purchase’s Geoff Robbins netted three goals, each set up by Dan Grabowski-Clark.   Grabowski-Clark also scored a goal of his own to round out the scoring for the Panthers.  

 

Freshman Rasheed Brown (Spanishtown, Jamaica/ Kingston College) scored his first career goal in the 81st minute to get York on the board. 

 

The Panthers (2-3) out shot York 17-12 and held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.   In goal, Pierrson Pierre-Louis (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/ Van Buren) stopped six shots for York, while Alex Frenkel turned away seven for Purchase.

 

York (3-2) will look to get back on track Saturday when they host CUNYAC-rival John Jay College at noon.
