Lady Cardinals Drop Match to Polytechnic

BROOKLYN, NY – The York College women’s volleyball team struggled in a non-conference match Wednesday evening as they fell to Polytechnic Institute of NYU 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-18).
Despite the loss, setter Charlina Gallegos put together another solid game for the Lady Cardinals, serving up three aces, digging four balls, and finishing with a hitting percentage of .500. Rookie Jaylene Medina had a team-high three kills and Pamela Lebron led York with six digs.
With the loss, York falls to 3-13 on the season, while Polytechnic improves to 10-9.
York will host SUNYIT and the College of New Rochelle on Friday beginning at 5:30 pm.
