York Men’s Volleyball Falls to PBU in Home Opener

JAMAICA, NY The York College men’s volleyball team dropped its home opener to Philadelphia Biblical University on Monday evening.  The Cardinals lost 3-0 (30-10, 30-15, 30-18) and fell to 1-1 on the year. 

 

PBU took control of the match early and was never threatened.  The Crimson Eagle’s Leandro Dueck had a game high nine kills, while Justin Brubacker had seven kills and a .538 hitting percentage. 

 

For the Cardinals, Jeff Walcott (Hopell Hanover, Jamiaca/ Seward Park) led York with seven kills.  Alain Dorcilien (Port-au-Prince Haiti/ Wingate) finished with 13 digs, while Stephen Vassell (Montego Bay, Jamaica/ Erasmus) had eight.   Marcin Kasza (Kobluszi, Poland/ Newcomers) also added 15 assists and four digs. 

 

York will be idle until Tuesday, February 5 when it hosts conference-rival Medgar Evers at 7 p.m.
