JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s and women’s swim team fell to Baruch College on Tuesday night. The men lost 101-43 and the women were defeated 114-51.
On the men’s side, Brian Miller (Long Island/ Uniondale) led York with two first place finishes. The freshman took first in both the 200-free and 400-free. Arriya Rojtinnakorn (Queens, NY/ Queens HS of Technology) also took first in the 100-breaststroke for the Cardinals
For the women, sophomore Ewa Cieslak (Flushing, NY/ Grover Cleveland) took first in the 400-free, while freshman Ayanna Bennett (Hempstead, NY/ Uniondale) placed first in the 100-breaststroke.
With the loss the men fall to 1-3, while the women drop to 1-5. Both teams are idle until January. The women will take on Hunter College on January 7, while both the men and the women’s team will visit Staten Island on January 11.
