Cardinals Edge Yeshiva in Women's Volleyball

 
JAMAICA, NY— In their final home game of the season, the York College Women’s Volleyball team won a hard fought match over Yeshiva on Sunday winning 3-2 (30-13,27-30,31-29, 25-30,15-8). 
 
After winning game one easily, the Cardinals played three tight games, with Yeshiva winning two out of three to force a fifth and deciding game.  In the fifth game, the Cardinals took control early and won 15-8.

Renee Thompson
had 33 assists, 15 digs and seven kills and Michelle Gibbs had 19 digs to lead York.  Claudia Kwapislewicz had a game-high eight kills and four aces.  Patricia Georgi also contributed with five kills and 10 digs.  
 
York, 4-23, will play their final game of the 2007 season when they visit Sarah Lawrence tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
