Kemillia John Leads Women’s Team at CUNYAC Track & Field Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y— York college sprinter
Kemillia John placed third in the 400-meter dash, while finishing strong in a number of other events to lead the York indoor track and field team at the 2012 CUNY Athletic Conference/ U.S. Army Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday evening.
John ran the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.81. She also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)-qualifying time of 26.89. John also added a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.31) and a fifth-place finish in the high jump (1.47 meters).
The Lehman College women's team took home the 2012 title, scoring 183 points, followed by City College (102 points), Hunter College (66 points) and Medgar Evers College (16 points). York was not eligible to score as a team.
York will now wrap up the indoor season at the ECAC Championships. John will compete in the 200-meter dash this weekend at the New Balance Track and Field Center.
