Women’s Tennis Gets Conference Win Over CCNY
JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis used strong play at the bottom portion of its flights to defeat CCNY by a score of 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.
CCNY took #1 and #2 singles and #1 doubles, but thanks to a deep roster, the lower flights came through to win the other six matches.
Amba Chanoine was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at # 3 singles and
Nina Olladikankwu won 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles.
Anna Ko was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at fifth singles, while Kameesha Sylvester won 6-2, 7-6 at # 6 singles.
In doubles play, York came out on top at #2 and #3 doubles. Chanoine and Jones cruised to an 8-1 triumph at #2 doubles, while Ko and Sylvester won a hard-fought match at third doubles by a score of 8-6.
The win improves York's record to 2-3, 1-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference, while CCNY drops to 1-3, 1-2 in the CUNYAC. York will visit Lehman on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
