Track and Field Performs at CTC Championships

CENTER VALLEY, PA—The York College men's and women's track and field teams finished in 13th and 14th place respectively at the Collegiate Track Conference Championships held at DeSales University Sunday afternoon.

For the women, Kemilla John led York with eighth place finishes in both the 100-meter dash (13.60) and the 200-meter dash (27.56).   The 4x400 relay team of John, Wendella Rankin, Alexis Schloss and Dawn Davis placed sixth in a time of 4:27.07.

For the men, Tarik Weekes placed tenth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.43, while Christopher Peguerro earned an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter high hurdles (1:01.30).  In the shot put, Steven Burnett placed tenth with a throw of 9.90 meters.

DeSales College (183 points) were the winners on the men's side, while Georgian Court University (190 points) won on the women's side. 

York will return to action on May 1st when they host the 2011 CUNY Athletic Conference Championships at Icahn Stadium.
