Women’s Soccer Can’t Convert Scoring Opportunities; Falls to Berkeley

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's soccer team could not convert on multiple scoring opportunities, while Berkeley College (NY) made the most of its few scoring chances as they defeated the Cardinals 1-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
 
York had 30 shots and 19 of which were on goal but none of them could find the back of the net.  Berkeley goalies Marlen Bravo and Mariam Diaby combined for 19 saves in the contest. 
 
Meanwhile, Berkeley only had 5 shots on the day but were able to convert on its final one of the day.  A free kick, following a foul, by Diaby was lofted over the keeper's head and into the net in the 77th minute of play. 
 
York continued to have scoring opporutnuties following the goal but could not get the equalizer.
 
The Cardinals fall to 1-10 with the loss, while Berkeley improves to 1-3-1.  York will host John Jay on Monday.
