Pazmino Tabbed as CUNYAC Rookie of the Week
JAMAICA, NY— York College freshman swimmer Sara Pazmino has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week for the period ending November 16, 2009.
Pazmino got off to a fast start, literally, in her York College career. In the Lady Cardinals opening meet on November 3 against Mount Saint Mary College, Pazmino won the 100-breaststroke and placed second in the 200 individual medley. Then on November 6 against Hunter College, she won both the 200-freestyle and the 100-breaststroke. She currently has the second fastest 100 breaststroke time in the CUNYAC.
Judy Espinal of Lehman College was named Athlete of the Week. On the men's side, Nikolay Shevchenko and Joe Lee of the College of Staten Island were named Athlete and Rookie of the Week respectively.
York will host Old Westbury and New Rochelle tonight at 6:00 p.m.
