STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.—Every member of the York College men's and women's cross country team each set a new personal record at the Staten Island Invitational Saturday. Each team also had its best finish of the year, as the men placed third overall and the women were fifth.
On the women's side,
Alana Johnson led the way with a fifth-place finish in the 6k race with a time of 27:42.6. In 17th place was
Kaithlyn Taylor who ran a time of 30:01.6.
The men's side saw four Cardinals place in the top 30.
Kaylash Autar was 14th the 8k race with a time 32:55.7 and
Terrell Trumpet was 16th in 33:28.3. In 19th place was
Gregory Klimaytis who ran a time of 33:51.9. Keshawn Ross placed 30th in 36:26.7.
NYIT won the women's race, while Kingsborough Community College got the victory in the men's race.
The Cardinals will look to build off the momentum of this race next Sunday, October 8, when they host the York College Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park at 10 a.m.
