STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.—The York College men's and women's indoor track and field team opened up the season at the Seahawk Shootout hosted by Wagner College at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday night.
 
Highlighting the men's side was Dammon Trimmingham, who placed 15th in the shot put with a toss of 10.54 meters. 
 
The men's sprint medley relay team of Terrell Trumpet, Rojhn Miller, Keshawn Ross, and Kaylash Autar placed seventh with a time of 3:53.02. 
 
For the women, Sharina Tappin placed 19th in the long jump with a distance of 4.50 meters and Nicole Ovelheira was 23rd in the shot put with a throw of 7.22 meters.
 
The team will now be idle until January 5 when they return to Ocean Breeze for another meet hosted by Wagner College beginning at 2 p.m.
