Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Both Place 12th in the St. Joseph's College Invitational

KINGS PARK, N.Y. — In their last regular season competition, the York College men's and women's cross country teams both finished 12th on the day at the St. Joseph's College (Long Island) Invitational. 

In the men's 8000 meter run (8k), the Cardinal's men's team scored 347 points, with an average time of 32:47, placing them 12th out of 20 teams. Bloomfield won the race with an average time of 27:46.

In the women's 5000 meter run (5k), the Cardinal's women's team scored 332 points, with an average time of 25:17, placing them 12th out of 18 teams. Cerritos College won the race with an average time of 20:50.

The York men were paced by Elliot Rogers, who finished 41st (out of 168) in the 8k race with a time of 30:09. For the women's 5k race, Camilla Philbert finished 61st (out of 155) with a time of 24:05.

The winners of each race were Daniele LoCastro (18:25) and Isaiah Curbelo of Bloomfield College (27:10), the winning men's team.

York will close up their season with the CUNYAC Championship on October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
