Women’s Cross Country Places Seventh at CUNYAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y.— The York College women's cross country team finished seventh overall at the 2012 CUNY Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.
Leading the way for York in the race, as she has all season, was freshman
Verenice Gomez, who placed 19
th overall in the 6k race with a time of 27:19.
Kemillia John performed well also, placing 27th in 28:34, while
Reisha Armstrong came in right after John in 28th place in 28:46. The team finished with 163 points.
Baruch College won the 2012 Championship, scoring 39 points. The Bearcats placed three runners in the top 5 en route to the title. Lizzy Mahoney of Hunter College won the individual title, running the race in a time of 22:59.
York will close out the 2012 season on Saturday at the ECAC Championships in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
